In this article, I share my thoughts about the automation of Oakland’s building permits.  The city purportedly is implementing changes to its building permit system, aiming to automate 70% of permit types by the end of the year. While some skepticism exists among developers regarding its impact on larger projects, the move is anticipated to streamline processes for smaller residential and commercial renovations.
